Innovasjon Norway

Innovation Norway allocates the Arena Project to NorWind initiative 5 projects of a total of 13 applicants were awarded support this year. The applications show that there are many exciting and interesting business initiatives under development in many parts of the country. These will all have a substantial future impact in regions. The goal is to increase the economic growth in regional business environments and clusters and make the companies more competitive.

The five industry clusters, Arena Norwegian Offshore Wind (NOW), Arena Vindenergi,
MediArena, Arena Eyde and Oslo MedTech, all attains the status of projects in the Arena program.

- These five projects have the best conditions to trigger their aspirations and realize their goals through participation in the Arena Program, said the leader of the Program Council for the NCE and Arena, Hans Martin Vikdal.

It is Innovation Norway, SIVA and the Norwegian Research Council who are behind the Arena Program providing financial and technical support to the long-term development of regional business initiatives. The purpose is to stimulate increased innovation based on collaboration between companies, research and higher educational institutions and public development stakeholders. Annual allocation from the program is between NOK 1.5 - 2.5 million per project.
